Butcher block dining table

These photos show the evolution of a butcher block tabletop, from a pile of rough cut lumber to finished product. My neighbors were looking for a new dining room table and had seen some of the butcher block tops I'd previously made. They didn't want any nail holes that are prevalent in pallet wood so this top was constructed from virgin oak, walnut and cherry. There's also a neat time-lapse video of the flattening process, where I flatten both sides of the table top to make sure both surfaces are parallel. As you can see, the process is VERY dusty!
